49ers RB Trenton Cannon Taken Off the Field in an Ambulance

SJ - December 5, 2021

49ers running back Trenton Cannon was taken off the field in an ambulance after hitting his head on his own teammates knee during the opening kickoff in Seattle.  He was attempting to make a tackle when he slipped and missed the ball carrier.

Unfortunately after missing the tackle Cannon's head hit his teammate's knee.  His head was knocked backwards and he did not get up.  It's unknown if it's a head or neck injury that required an ambulance, but he did leave the field in an ambulance.

Obviously the use of an ambulance isn't a great sign.  Hopefully it was out of an abundance of caution.  You hate to see serious injuries happen playing a sport we all love.
