Cowboys quarterback Ben DiNucci started the first NFL game of his career against the Eagles on Sunday night. The rookie seventh-round draft pick out of James Madison was forced into action after injuries to Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton.
While DiNucci survived without suffering an injury himself the Cowboys took a 23-9 loss and failed to find the end zone. The rookie didn't exactly light it up, going 21-of-40 for 180 yards.
The loss dropped Dallas' record to a pitiful 2-6 on the season. The night wasn't a complete loss for DiNucci, his girlfriend Bryn Recker was in the stands to watch his first NFL start.
All things considered it wasn't a bad night for a guy who was never supposed to see the field this season. And even in defeat, DiNucci is doing just fine off the field.
