Patriots head coach Bill Belichick released a statement on Wednesday night addressing Tom Brady's retirement.  The note was very complimentary as he referred to Brady as the "best player in NFL history."

Belichick spent 20 seasons coaching Brady with the Patriots.  They won six Super Bowls together in New England.

Of all of the statements about Brady's career this one has to mean the most to him.  Belichick uncharacteristically went over the top to praise the future Hall of Famer.

There will never be another run like the Brady-Belichick era in New England, not as long as football remains a contact sport.  Which is not a guarantee.
