DIRECTV’s Weird NFL Season Hype Ad!

DIRECTV dropped what I consider a pretty disturbing commercial to generate some buzz around NFL season in thee weirdest way.

They have the Real Housewives up against a couple of Dallas Cowboy players in what I understand as a viral marketing stunt, but that confuses me when watching it.

DIRECTV obviously knows their popular shows, so why not merge them into one giant mess, unless you are one of the million of people be into the Real Housewives show, in which case you probably love this and aren't left feeling uncomfortable and confused by it.

I've really only seen clips of the Housewives shows over the years and I find it just vile and horrible, it features some really awful and semi-scary looking rich ladies, and doesn't really inspire in any way, but I am not their target market.

So in the ad, you will see the Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb, who we hope got paid HEAVY to take on he Real Housewives including Teresa Giudice, Kyle Richards, and Kenya Moore.

I get why this was funny on paper, I get why it was funny to TV watchers everywhere, but to an outsider, if found by future aliens in a time capsule, it would leave them understanding precisely why society collapsed.

Just because two things are popular, doesn't mean they need to be merged to make it meteorically popular, if you know what I mean!
