Jutta Leerdam modeling SKIMS makes almost too much sense.

The Dutch speed skating superstar has built a career that exists somewhere between elite athletics, fashion modeling, celebrity and full-blown influencer-dom.

Jutta Leerdam is really, really good at being an influencer.

She's got the look, the style, she's fit. She knows how to photograph herself. She has millions of followers. She understands fashion. She travels. She posts lifestyle content. She has the celebrity boyfriend.

But there's one important difference between Jutta and a lot of influencers, including the Kardashian brand owners she is working for and that is that she can actually skate.

She's an elite speed skater who has competed at the highest level of her sport and won major international medals. So when she posts a picture showing off an absurdly athletic physique, there's an actual reason that physique looks like that.

That gives her something a lot of influencers desperately want: credibility.

Jutta can put on SKIMS, pose in front of a camera and look good....but when she talks about fitness, training, athleticism or maintaining her body, she's not pretending she discovered Pilates last Tuesday because a brand sent her a discount code.

She has spent years training like an absolute maniac and that makes the whole influencer thing considerably less obnoxious.

Because there's a difference between:

"Look at my body because I have a lot of followers."

and

"Look at my body because I have spent approximately half my life training it to go extremely fast on ice and win all the time."

She is a finely tuned machine.

The brand has increasingly blurred the lines between underwear, shapewear, fashion, celebrity and athletic-looking lifestyle content. Jutta fits directly into that world because she can inhabit all of those identities simultaneously.

She's an athlete.

She's a model.

She's a celebrity.

She's an influencer.

And, increasingly, those things are basically the same job.

The funny part is that Jutta's athletic career may actually be what makes her influencer career more tolerable.

There are plenty of social-media personalities who seem to have been handed a camera and immediately started explaining how everyone else should live, while Jutta doesn't sit on the sidelines, instead she just wins!
