Lamar Jackson is “Too Focused” on the Upcoming Season to Talk Extension With the Ravens

It does not look like the Ravens are going to be able to convince Lamar Jackson to sign an extension before the start of the 2022 season.  He has been unwilling and is reportedly still unwilling to talk about a new contract.

From Pro Football Talk:

At the start of the season, the story was that he was too focused on football. After the season, the story was that he was too focused on getting healthy. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Jackson has told the Ravens that he’s currently too focused on having his best possible year and that he doesn’t want to do a deal until the 2022 season is over.

It sounds to me like Lamar is looking for the Ravens to make some moves improving the roster before he's ready to talk extension.  They haven't done much and maybe that's the reason he hasn't been willing to sit down.

If I'm Baltimore I'm figuring out exactly what's going on.  You don't want to end up on an endless quarterback search.
