As the countdown to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina begins, the opening ceremonies are this week, one name keeps flying down the ice at terrifying speeds: Lisa Buckwitz.

She is an Olympic gold medalist, world champion, and proof that winning the Olympics does not automatically pay the bills because she's financed by her EXCLUSIVE CONTENT channels.

It is not a hit on her morals as an athlete, but rather evidence that some sports just don't have enough international support to really be careers.

She shocked the world at the 2018 Games, winning gold in two-woman bobsleigh.

Fast-forward to Beijing 2022: fourth place. The cruelest number in sports. Close enough to smell the medals, far enough to get nothing but memories and sore quads.

In the seasons since Beijing, Buckwitz has been on a tear with World Cup wins, World Championship gold, and a full transformation from push athlete to elite pilot.

She’s faster, sharper, and arguably in the best form of her career heading into 2026, but also the best form in photos and videos, since that is how she monetizes her skills.

Being and elite athlete, even in bobsleigh is expensive, and medals don’t cover airfare, sled tech, and a life spent chasing ice in different time zones.

So Buckwitz did what modern athletes do, she turned to the fans.

She posts training content. Behind-the-scenes life. Actual transparency. And most importantly: funding her Olympic dream without waiting for a sponsor deck to get approved.

Milan-Cortina Could Be Her Moment and at 31, Buckwitz enters the Olympic year with:

Olympic gold already in her pocket and World titles to back it up

She’s experienced enough to stay calm, fast enough to scare the timing clocks, and honest enough to say what most athletes can’t.

Whether she medals in monobob, two-woman, or both, Lisa Buckwitz is already a winner to us!
