There was a time when a work vacation meant sitting beside a hotel pool with your laptop open, answering emails while quietly accomplishing absolutely nothing.
Or worse, working a tradeshow or conference for 18 hours per day over the course of 4 days, leaving you with some kind of tradeshow illness worse than any COVID.
For Livvy Dunne and Olivia Ponton, apparently, work vacation means putting on matching one-piece swimsuits, finding some tropical water, and reminding the internet that being extreme clickbait is now a legitimate business model.
Dunne recently shared a collection of vacation photos featuring herself alongside fellow influencer Olivia Ponton, and the two looked like they were taking a break from work, instead of doing actual work.
However, when they are Sports Illustrated Swim Models, at least as one of their LINKEDIN line-items, this is their kind of work.
Both women have mastered the modern influencer economy, where a "casual vacation photo" can simultaneously function as a lifestyle update, fashion advertisement, engagement machine, personal brand reminder and unpaid audition for whatever company happens to be watching.
More importantly, it also generates the ability to become a WAG.
One doesn't automatically seduced a pro-athlete just having followers, it takes some targeted content ads, but if done properly, that seems to be what happens.
Social media, is the WAG GENERATOR.
It churns out potential WAGs like it is a WAG factory.
This is not a vacation.
This is **WAG Economics.**
