Maple Leafs captain John Tavares exited Game 1 of the playoff series against the Canadiens on Thursday night after taking a knee to the face.  The knee was a complete accident.

Tavares was at the wrong place at the wrong time after being knocked to the ice.  The knee knocked him out and as he was regaining consciousness it was clear he needed some assistance.

They brought the stretcher out to help him make it back to the locker room for further evaluation.

Hockey is fast the guys are huge and head injuries are part of what the players sign up for.  Props to Tavares' inner hockey guy for trying to get back to his feet after having his brain rattled.
