Marsha Anica Dunkel posted a fun training video with her friend.
Marsha Anica Dunkel isn’t just another name on the track circuit, she’s one of Germany’s rising 400-meter specialists, a hurdler and sprinter whose career has taken her across borders and onto some of Europe’s most competitive tracks. Born on May 10, 1995, Dunkel represents Germany in both the 400 m and 400 m hurdles, events where speed meets strategy and every stride has to be perfectly timed.
Today, Dunkel trains and competes out of Nice Côte d’Azur Athlétisme, one of France’s notable athletics clubs based along the Riviera. It’s the kind of setting where world-class athletes mix with ocean air and endless sun, which is a combination that seems to suit her well. Though German by nationality, her presence on the French club circuit has added a continental flair to her career, exposing her to new training groups and competitive environments while keeping her firmly rooted in elite sprinting.
Her performances speak for themselves. Dunkel has recorded a 55.26 in the indoor 400 m, a mark she set in Leipzig, showcasing her power on tight curves and fast indoor surfaces. Outdoors, she holds a 1:00.44 personal best in the 400 m hurdles, achieved in Berlin, a strong time in one of track’s most technically demanding events. In 2023, she lined up at the 123rd German Athletics Championships, where she produced a 1:00.62 in the 400 m hurdles semifinals, reinforcing her place among Germany’s reliable national competitors.
Training with a French club hasn’t changed her identity as a German athlete, if anything, it has expanded it. The mix of German precision and the dynamic, fast-paced training culture of Nice gives her an edge. Whether she’s working on her stride pattern for hurdles or sharpening her indoor speed, Dunkel has found a rhythm on the Riviera that blends discipline with environment.
Marsha Dunkel’s career is a reminder that the modern athlete doesn’t just stay in one lane literally or geographically. She’s carving out a multinational path, sprinting for Germany while embracing the competitive life of the French athletics scene. And with personal bests that continue to push upward, she remains a name worth watching every season she steps onto the track.
