Max Scherzer Doesn’t Understand Why There Aren’t Fans in the Upper Deck

The Nationals had just 5,000 fans in attendance for Tuesday's game against the Braves.  Max Scherzer was on the hill and was a little confused after his six inning, nine strikeout performance.

Scherzer couldn't wrap his head around why the Nationals didn't have any fans in the upper deck.  He wanted an explanation for the limited number of fans allowed at the stadium.

"I'm also confused here.  I don't understand why there weren't fans in the upper deck.  I don't understand why we can't have more fans here.  Somebody got to explain that to me because that doesn't make sense to me whatsoever.  So I understand that we need to be safe.  I respect the virus, but we can also have fans in the top part of the deck we can have more fans in here safely.  So, I would love an explanation."

Good luck with that Max.  I have a feeling the answer will be less than satisfying.  Something along the lines of, now that you've been vaccinated put on two masks.
