Apparently they do not play around in the USFL.  Running back De’Veon Smith found that out the hard way.  His USFL team, the Pittsburgh Maulers, cut him for wanting pizza instead of chicken salad.

Not only was Smith cut for his food choice, it was talked about during the pregame show of the Birmingham Stallions and New Jersey Generals game.  He requested pizza at the team hotel instead of chicken salad and was cut.

I don't know why this gets you cut in the USFL, but it's apparently a major offense because Smith was the team's top running back before wanting some pizza.

Smith has spent the last few years bouncing around spring leagues.  So maybe he'll have to wait for the XFL to startup again for another shot at playing football.
