Retirement Was a Very Real Consideration for Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers dragged out his decision to stay in Green Bay.  Was he going to force a trade or possibly retire?  That has all been settled.  He's returning to the Packers on a reported four year deal, but he was very close to retiring.

According to Pat McAfee, retirement was a very real consideration for Rodgers.  He apparently thought long and hard about doing something completely different.

From Larry Brown Sports:

Pat McAfee, who has become a Rodgers confidant, discussed the retirement option during an appearance on ESPN’s “Get Up” on Thursday.

“I think what was being talked about that hasn’t been chatted about is retirement was a very real consideration for him,” McAfee said on the show. “I don’t believe this was a clear, concise decision the entire way. I think there was multiple days when he thought about doing something vastly different than going back to the Pack.”

I'd love to know what Rodgers was thinking about doing.  Hot yoga instructor?  Maybe one of those spiritual guide douches who just makes up stuff with healing stones and shit.  That would have been entertaining.  I guess not as entertaining as him blowing it in the playoffs every year.  That's priceless.
