Sophie Cunningham seems to have figured it all out.
In this past year, she has become famous, or viral, because she was probably already famous.
She became the WNBA's star enforcer on the team with some of the biggest players. Then one of the league's biggest personalities.
She's apparently collecting side jobs after casually showing up at UFC 329 as a surprise Octagon Girl.
Her appearance was probably more exciting than Connor McGregor's!
The Indiana Fever guard was strutting around the Octagon carrying the Round 1 card like she'd been doing it for years. The cameo wasn't even planned weeks in advance. According to UFC CEO Dana White, the whole thing came together about eight minutes before she walked out after Cunningham jokingly mentioned she'd like to do it. White simply said, "Then you're going to walk around it."
The funniest part is that it somehow makes perfect sense.
Cunningham has quietly become one of the biggest crossover personalities in sports. Between defending Caitlin Clark, embracing every viral moment the internet throws her way, landing magazine shoots, launching a podcast, and now borrowing one of the UFC's most recognizable jobs for a night, she's proving that personality might be just as valuable as points per game.
She even worked in her now-famous finger-point celebration because of course she did. At this point it's basically her signature move.
Whether you're a WNBA fan, UFC fan, or someone who just appreciates watching an athlete capitalize on every opportunity that comes their way, Cunningham keeps finding ways to stay in the headlines.
At this rate, don't be surprised if Sophie Cunningham ends up throwing out the first pitch at the World Series, announcing an NHL starting lineup, hosting a NASCAR race, and somehow judging a barbecue competition before the WNBA playoffs even tip off.
She's not just winning basketball games anymore.
She's winning the internet.
