Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney partnered up and purchased a non-league Welsh football club called Wrexham back in 2020. Apparently Hollywood, including Blake Lively, were thrown off by the purchase.

The duo are doing press for their FX docuseries called "Welcome to Wrexham" which follows their ownership of the team.

In the media tour, Reynolds gave fans a little more insight to his relationship with McElheney and it starts with this dance sequence:

This is what Reynolds had to say to The Atlantic:

Rob had done a sequence on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that I just thought, pound for pound, was one of the most beautiful three minutes I'd ever seen, on this show that he'd obviously created and worked on for so many years,'

'So I just let him know. We kind of became friends, like text friends. We never actually met or anything like that. So then one day Rob sends me an email that outlines his plan to buy a lower-league club and grow it into something more resembling a global force.

'I just saw the path that he laid out, the phosphorescence in the water so to speak, and I was in. I just thought it was so unexpected and so interesting and I love building businesses and this is a business.'

So there you have it, a comedic rendition of an interpretive dance done very seriously, on a hit show, is enough to get you a deep pocket movie star business partner on a venture, so if you're looking for celebrity investors, first you have to become a celebrity by creating a hit show, keeping that show on air for 15 years, and maybe they'll slip into your DMs when you drop a topleess dance routine.
