Fernando Tatis Jr. Apologized for Hitting a Grand Slam

San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. is a star in the making.  The 21-year-old has 11 home runs and 28 RBIs through the first 23 games of the season.

Tatis Jr. hit two of those homers and drove in seven of those runs during a 14-4 beating of the Texas Rangers.  His second home run was an 8th inning grand slam on a 3-0 pitch that he ended up apologizing for.

The Rangers weren't happy about the fact that Tatis Jr. swung at a 3-0 pitch and threw at Manny Machado.  The pitcher missed Machado, because it wasn't the pitching staff's night.

Rangers manager Chris Woodward cried about it after the game and the internet started another unwritten rules conversation.  Look, I'm a big unwritten rules guy, but I'm on Tatis Jr's side of this one.

Tatis Jr. homered off of a good 3-0 pitch on the outside corner.  It's not like the pitcher grooved him one dick high right down the middle.

He hit a strike over the fence and has nothing to apologize for.  If you don't want that to happen, make a better pitch because this dude is red hot and hitting dongs left and right.
