Duke football has an opening at head coach after parting ways with David Cutcliffe.  They're reportedly interested in Jason Garrett.  He's of course free after being fired by the Giants a few weeks ago.

Just because there's an interest and Garrett is free doesn't mean he'll end up coaching at Duke.

From Larry Brown Sports:

Duke football is looking for a new head coach after pushing out David Cutcliffe, and they have several possible replacements in mind. One of the candidates for the job is a familiar name.

The Raleigh News & Observer reports that Duke has interest in Jason Garrett for their head coaching position.

Garrett, 55, was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys from 2011-2019 before being let go by the team. He then became the offensive coordinator of the New York Giants but was fired this season.

After a 3-9 season Duke is clearly keeping the search for a head coach wide open.  Why not replace mediocrity with mediocrity?  Mediocrity is the Duke way when it comes to football.
