The holiday season can be a stressful time, with the year coming to an end and many of us trying to wrap up our workflow before we get ready to spend weeks on end with our family members. Stress is a killer, literally, so it's important that we all find ways to deal with out stress in a healthy way and not just by getting drunk and smoking cigarettes (something I am interested in getting involved in, but too scared to).

Supermodel Gisele may not look like she has much to stress about, but that's because she knows how to deal with the street in life in the best way possible, which I'm sure has a lot to do with the fact that she left the busy world of America to settle on a beach in Costa Rica most of the year.

Today, Gisele is sharing more about how she handles stress and is giving us the tools to help mange our own stress this season.

"Managing stress is part of life and while we can’t always control our circumstances, we can choose how we respond to them and try to find healthy ways to deal with it."

Read Gisele's 5 easy ways to deal with your stress below and see more updates from the model in the gallery!

1- Do a physical activity: it doesn’t need to be weights at the gym. Find something that you enjoy, dance, yoga, run, play a sport. The important thing is getting your body moving so you can benefit from the release of endorphins.
2- Walk in nature: Spending just 20 minutes a day connecting with nature can help lower stress and balance hormone levels.
3- Meditation / Conscious breathing: Find a comfortable spot in a quiet place, focus on on your breath, allow your mind and body to calm down.
4- Use herbal supplements: Ashwagandha, for example, can help improve the body’s resilience to mental and physical stress.
5- Eat a balanced diet : Do your best to avoid sugary, processed foods and try to eat more whole food that nourish your body.
