Matthew Stafford to the 49ers Rumors Start Immediately After Lions Agree to Trade QB

The Matthew Stafford wants out of Detroit rumors were 100% true.  The Lions quarterback and the only franchise he's ever known have mutually agreed to part ways.

The Lions will look for a trade partner for their former first-round pick.  Quickly after the news broke that the two sides were parting ways, rumors that the 49ers would be interested surfaced.

The 49ers you ask...  Didn't they overpay Jimmy Garoppolo and didn't he lead them to a Super Bowl appearance a couple of years ago?

San Francisco absolutely overpaid Jimmy G, but it was the defense that led the 49ers to a Super Bowl loss.  That and the fact that Garoppolo has had a hard time staying healthy are leading many to speculate that the 49ers are looking to move on from him.
