For someone who doesn't like anything Soccer, it seems like Soccer is all I am being exposed to today. I blame the world cup.
Less than 5 minutes ago, BBC reported that Cristiano Ronaldo, probably the biggest name in soccer, who has been the biggest name in soccer for the last 18 years, is off the Manchester United club as of immediately.
The decision is following an interview where the player said he had no respect for his manager Erik ten Hag.
Both parties say the exit was mutual, they released some canned "thanks for your service" PR message, wishing him success in life, like a bad break-up where your ex tells you "have a nice life".
Ronaldo is currently in Portugal for the World Cup, has 7 months left in his lucrative contract with Manchester United, where he makes over 500k a week in British Sterling, not USD.
In Ronaldo's canned response, he said he loves the team, the fans, and is ready for a new challenge.
The creepy Ronaldo fans don't need to cry yet, he'll likely continue playing into his 40s like he's Tom Brady.
I still think his most important accomplishment or his most iconic contribution to the world is introducing us to Irina Shayk.
