Retired NFL receiver Steve Smith Sr. was one of the most intense football players to ever play in the league. That intensity led to some fights from time to time with his teammates and opponents.
Smith joined Kyle Brandt on "10 Questions" and talked about a fight he had with a JUCO teammate that almost ended with him being shot. Thankfully, Smith had to work at Taco Bell and missed his angry teammate and his gun.
“10 QUESTIONS” with Steve Smith, Sr.
Just listen to this story about how Taco Bell saved him from getting killed. It’s chilling.

It's certainly not a shocking story given how many times Smith fought during his career. The shocking part might be that it didn't happen more often. His intensity could get under people's skin, but it's what made him such a beast on the field.
