A bizarre scene unfolded last weekend when the Mets announced that they were unable to locate Yoenis Cespedes during their game against the Braves.  It was later revealed that he decided to opt out of the season for "COVID-related reasons."

A video posted by TMZ Sports is poking holes in Cespedes' reason for opting out.  It shows him dancing with a hot woman at a New York restaurant weeks before he opted out.

From TMZ Sports:

It all went down on July 10 at a restaurant called The Cuban in Garden City, NY -- where the outfielder tore up the dance floor with a bootylicious partner.

The place looks empty in our video -- but the person who shot it tells us it's a bit misleading because the restaurant was actually packed that night.

You can see in a second clip (shot a short time before Yoenis got on stage) there were professional dancers on stage and people hanging at the bar.

So if COVID-19 isn't the reason Cespedes opted out then what is?

Probably the Mets terrible bullpen, which has already let them down multiple times, and the fact that Cespedes was hitting just .161 when he opted out.

Cespedes is a free agent next year and needs to trick another team into giving him millions of dollars.  He can't do that with a .161 average.
